What if the waste you throw away every day could become a source of income, jobs, and thriving green spaces? The Eco-Green Roadshow: Waste is Wealth Edition invites you to find out exactly how.
This year’s theme — Repurpose, Reclaim, Reimagine — comes to life through a morning of practical, hands-on learning at the iconic Oude Molen Eco Village. Whether you’re a gardener, an aspiring entrepreneur, or simply a curious citizen, you’ll leave with skills you can use immediately.
The program kicks off with registration and an icebreaker, followed by a tour of the YWC Agri-project and E-waste Station. Then, dive into a powerful 90-minute workshop on waste recycling, the circular economy, and green entrepreneurship, presented by Kenfac Wastego. You’ll discover that waste is not trash — it’s a resource, a job creator, and a path to wealth.
Next, explore indigenous plant foraging and the art of fermenting in a hands-on session that connects you to local biodiversity. After that, join Natasha de Leeuw from Soil for Life for a practical composting workshop — turning everyday kitchen and garden waste into rich, life-giving soil.
The morning ends with a networking lunch, giving you time to connect with like-minded changemakers.
Held during Youth Month and marking the 50th anniversary of 16 June 1976, this event celebrates resilience, regeneration, and the power of communities to build a greener, fairer future.
Entry is free. Spaces are limited. Come see how waste becomes wealth — and how you can be part of the circular economy.
