The IFAA Public Forum hosts lectures, panels, and workshops on social crises and political developments. It democratizes ideas, nurtures solutions, and engages the public, especially youth with ‘experts’ and policymakers. In 2024, it aligned with core programs, enhancing digital outreach and partnerships, including Cape Town TV and Surplus Radical Books. In the first part of the year, our forums included book launches, film screenings, and a new series of creative writers workshops bringing together aspiring writers with published and established writers. A special highlight was our Youth Speak event co-hosted with Surplus Radical Books, The Peace Centre, and The Future Innovations Lab at the University of the Western Cape. Over the next few months, our forums will cover topics such as Illicit Financial Flows and the Just Transition, The Social Compact, Human Settlements and Spatial Apartheid, Water and Human Rights, and more. To attend or register for these forums, look for information on our social media platforms such as X, Instagram, and our IFAA Forum page on Facebook.
