IFAA Forum: A Conversation with the Cuban Ambassador

The Friends of Cuba Society (FOCUS), The Institute for African Alternatives, and Surplus Radical Books will host the Cuban Ambassador, Comrade Enrique Orta González at Surplus Books, 302 Albert Rd, Woodstock Cape Town. von Thursday 23 June 2022, at 6 pm.

The Obama administration initiated a process of ‘normalization’ of relations between the US and Cuba, easing some restrictions, but the 62year old trade embargo – the most enduring embargo in modern history – largely remains in place.  What is the impact of this embargo on Cuba today? Why is giving solidarity to the Cuban people crucial in the quest for a new world order? We have asked the Ambassador to shed some light on these issues in his address.
