In Defence Of Constitutional Democracy (DECODE)

Parliament as the cornerstone of public participation

Decode aims to build understanding of and commitment to the constitutionally determined role of Parliament in our democracy. It engages with parliamentarians on their collective understanding of what it means to work within a democratic framework that places voters’ demands above those of a party; and it works with citizens on what can and must be expected from their elected representatives and the need to call them to account and demand they conduct oversight of the Executive effectively and in good faith. The project supports the widespread civil society mobilisation for electoral and parliamentary reform to deliver an effective people-centred, representative democracy.
